Ectopic pregnancy is a frightening prospect, both for couples hoping to get pregnant and for those using birth control to prevent pregnancy. This type of pregnancy can’t proceed normally, and can instead result in life-threatening harm.

Pregnancy begins when an egg is fertilized. It then normally attaches itself to the lining of the uterus’s main cavity and begins growing into a fetus.
